Free Astrocartography Chart: Every Tool Compared

Nine years ago I paid an astrologer for a reading before I emigrated. Kazakhstan to Canada at 24. Twelve hours of time difference. Half a world of streets I had never walked. The reading arrived. My real questions came back unanswered. So I started learning the technique myself.

Fifteen years of study later, every chart I open still starts the same way. Free tool first. Meaning second. Side by side, the sites worth using separate quickly. The astro-seek generator and Getlora are the two most people land on first.

I am Grigor. Every book published on astrocartography sits on my shelf, which is possible only because the field has a handful of them. No certifying body exists in this corner of astrology. Nobody hands out a badge for it. What I have instead is the map on my wall and the years behind it.

Around 30,000 people a month go looking for a free astrocartography chart. Most still land on a calculator that draws lines and stops there. This page compares the tools against each other. Then it covers what free output leaves out. The wider framework lives on the astrocartography pillar.

What a Free Astrocartography Chart Shows You

Every free calculator does one core job. Your birth data goes in. The planets from your natal chart land on a world map. Lines come out.

Ten bodies is the usual count, even if some tools add more. Each one draws four lines, one per angle of your birth chart. So roughly forty vertical bands across the globe, sometimes more.

The first time I saw my own map I looked for Almaty. Then for Calgary. A Moon line sat near both, at opposite angles, on opposite sides of the planet. Same family planet. Twelve time zones apart.

Geography is what a free chart hands you. Where each line falls. Which cities sit inside the orb. And which planet runs through the address you pay rent on right now.

Meaning is what it withholds. Free tools are good for the visual. Then somebody has to tell you what that visual means for your specific chart. Most tools also let you switch planets on and off. Some add Chiron. Almost all of them export a screen-resolution image and nothing better.

Generating Your Chart, Step by Step

Three pieces of data go in. Date of birth. Clock time of birth. Place of birth. Nothing else reaches the math.

Clock time still carries the most weight of the three. Planets shift about one degree every four minutes. Four minutes of error. Roughly seventy miles of longitude, gone. Round your birth time to the nearest hour and whole cities slide off your lines.

Dig out the certificate before you open anything. A birth certificate beats a family memory every time.

Then pick a calculator and enter the data. Let the atlas resolve your birthplace. The tool handles time zone and daylight saving on its own. Generate the map. Save the image at the largest size the site allows.

Now the part almost everyone skips. Write down every line running within about 300 miles of the places that already matter to you. Your birthplace. Wherever you live now. The two or three locations you still think about at night. That short list is your real reading material. Everything else on the world map can wait.

Most free tools finish the drawing in under two minutes. The list afterward takes an evening.

Every Free Astrocartography Calculator, Compared

Six free astrocartography websites surface again and again. astro.com, astro-seek, astrochart.co, upastrology, asknovaastrology and astrocarto.org. I have run my own data through most of them.

They are not equal. Two are real tools. The rest are template shells wrapped around a generator.

My own sorting method was expensive. Every book published on this technique, every video course I could find, then multiple software packages bought outright. The free calculators went through the same testing. What follows is where each one landed.

astro.com and the AstroClick Travel Map

Astrodienst runs astro.com, which is why astrodienst astrocartography and astro.com astrocartography name the same map. The tool is called AstroClick Travel. Searching that site for the word astrocartography finds nothing at all. Look under free horoscopes, then locational astrology.

Ten bodies get drawn. Sun, Moon, the planets, plus the lunar nodes. Click any line and a panel of general interpretation opens. Crossing points open one too.

Best free astrocartography chart on the web, in my opinion. It has already held that position for years. AstroClick Local Space sits beside it in the same menu for city work. The full walkthrough lives in the astro.com guide.

Astro-Seek and the Sidereal Option

Astro-Seek draws a cleaner map. Faster, too, with no profile creation before you see anything.

Options are its advantage. Sidereal settings. House system choices. A relocation chart calculator one menu across. Anyone hunting a sidereal astrocartography calculator without buying software starts here.

The interpretation layer stays thin, though. Line meanings arrive as a paragraph each, written for everybody who ever loads the page.

astrocarto.net, astrocarto.org, and the Generator Wave

Two of the sites ranking for a free astrocartography chart come from the same family. One of them, astrocarto.org, carries under 200 words of prose behind 46 headings. The other, astrocarto.net, does considerably better at roughly 1,600 words.

Both draw a usable map. Then both hand you the same planet paragraphs every other generator uses. The lines are real. What sits under them is a template.

The AI Astrology Websites

A newer group of astrocartography websites wraps a calculator in generated text. Highest ranked of those today is asknovaastrology, at roughly 500 words across 17 subheadings.

Nothing is wrong with the math. The map comes out fine. What arrives underneath it is language, not analysis. Nobody has checked your chart against your life.

I use these the way I use a weather app. Quick answer, no argument, no depth.

Paid Software, and When It Earns the Money

Several packages sit on my hard drive. I paid for every one of them. Not one of them ever told me what my Venus line meant, though.

Money buys precision here, never interpretation. Parans. Midpoints. Print resolution. A sidereal engine that actually works. The software comparison covers each program in detail.

For a first look at your lines, free is enough. It also stays enough far longer than most product pages admit.

Why Two Free Charts of the Same Birth Disagree

Run your data through three calculators and the maps will not match. That surprises people more than anything else on this subject.

House system explains most of it. MC and IC lines land identically everywhere, since those two run on longitude alone. AC and DC lines curve, and the curve depends on the system a tool uses. Placidus and Whole Sign still disagree.

Orb width is the second cause. One site draws a hairline. Another shades 500 kilometers to either side. Same line, very different impression of whether it touches your city.

Projection is the third. A Mercator world map stretches the far north, so a line through Norway looks wider than the same line through Ecuador.

Zodiac setting is the fourth. Tropical and sidereal charts sit about 24 degrees apart.

Time zone data is the quiet fifth. Births from the 1950s and 1960s carry messy daylight saving records in some countries. One calculator applies the historical rule. Another applies today’s rule. An hour of difference, and your lines move a long way east.

None of that makes a tool broken, though. Read the settings before you trust the picture.

Reading the Lines on Your Astrocartography Map

Forty lines on one screen is too much to process at once. So work in layers.

The Four Angles: AC, DC, MC, IC

Each planet draws four lines, and the angle changes the character completely. AC lines put the planet into your body and your presence. People meet you differently there. DC lines push it into your relationships, so partners and clients and opponents all shift. MC lines carry it into public life. Career, recognition, the thing strangers know you for. IC lines drop it into your home. Family, roots, the emotions you only feel behind a closed door.

The same Moon reads almost opposite on an IC line and an MC line. Almaty and Calgary taught me that one personally. More detail sits on the four angle lines.

What Each Planet Carries

Sun for vitality and career visibility. Moon for home, family and the belonging feeling. Mercury for learning, libraries and language. Venus for love, beauty and attraction. Mars for energy, conflict and machinery. Jupiter for luck, growth and the opportunities that arrive uninvited. Saturn for discipline and long work. Uranus for sudden change and aviation. Neptune for sleep, dreams and creative fog. Pluto for transformation nobody asked for. Chiron for old wounds and the health you have to work at.

Two of mine, since examples land better than lists. My Uranus line runs straight through Calgary International Airport. Uranus rules aviation, and I did not choose that city for its runways.

Calgary’s older university sits on my Mercury line. I attended the other one instead. Learned English there. Went through a transformation I had not ordered. Pluto territory, in hindsight. Full meanings are on the line meanings page, with the glyphs on the symbols reference.

Crossings, Parans, and Midpoints

Two lines meeting matters more than either line alone. A Venus and Sun crossing is where I met my former fiancée, in a coffee shop on Kensington Road. The building still stands.

Parans are the horizontal crossings. Almost no free tool bothers to plot them yet.

Midpoints are the band between two lines. My current home sits between my Sun line and my Jupiter line. That position has a name. No free calculator has ever drawn it for me.

Where to Live, According to a Free Chart

The question underneath most free chart searches is simple. Just tell me where to live.

A free chart answers at one zoom level. The world. That is level one of six.

I read maps like matryoshka dolls. Global first. The country next. Province or state after that. Then the city. The apartment inside it. Finally, on a long enough trip, the seat on the plane.

Say Canada looks interesting on your map. Quebec might carry the strongest lines. Ontario might hold a Moon line through Toronto. Zoom into Alberta and Calgary shows Venus and Mars. Now zoom into Calgary itself. Which neighborhood, which street, which side of the river.

Free tools hand you level one, then stop. Everything from the city down needs local space work. That is where a printed map earns its price. More on choosing places sits on best places to live.

Five Things a Free Astrocartography Chart Cannot Do

Calibration comes first. Your lines mean nothing until you test them against your own past. Where did the good years happen. And which places took something from you. I lost a coffee shop and then a court case on a Pluto line in East Village. Pluto stopped being a textbook word for me that year. No calculator runs that exercise for you, even now.

Zoom is second. City, house and airplane-seat level all need different math. Local space, not global lines.

Midpoints are third. Nothing free draws them.

Birth time precision is fourth. Free tools accept a guessed time in silence. They will draw beautiful lines from bad data and never warn you.

Print quality is fifth. A screenshot lives in a downloads folder for a week. Then the tab closes and you forget it existed.

One more, though it is not really a limit. A free chart cannot ask what you actually want. Every report I write starts from somebody’s question.

Free Reading, Free Report, Free Interpretation

Roughly a thousand people a month search for a free astrocartography reading. Straight answer. It does not exist.

What exists is a free chart plus generated text. That text was written long before your birth data ever loaded. Same Venus paragraph for you as for the next visitor.

A reading means somebody looked at your chart and answered your question. Hours of work. Nobody gives away hours.

I write custom reports by hand, one at a time, from the questions a client sends me. No calls. Nobody books a consultation. There is no scheduling page. Just written work, delivered as a custom report you keep.

Worth saying plainly too. No certification exists in astrocartography. Anyone selling you credentials in this field invented them.

Vedic and Sidereal Charts

Sidereal astrocartography comes up often enough to answer here. The zodiac you pick shifts every line by roughly 24 degrees of longitude.

Astro-Seek handles sidereal at no cost. Most other free tools simply assume tropical and never mention it.

Vedic astrologers work with the sidereal zodiac. So a Vedic astrocartography chart is a sidereal chart, read through a different tradition.

Which one is right. Both traditions have centuries behind them. I work tropical, following what Jim Lewis built the technique on in 1979. Test both against your own history if you have the patience.

From a Free Chart to a Printed Map

Start with a free chart. Get a feel for where your lines fall. The interpretation matters later.

A printed map carries the same lines. Plus the meanings. Then the midpoints, and a level of detail worth wall space for years. Astrotopographer maps mark all four angles for every planet, so nothing hides behind a hairline.

I develop and print each map myself. Digital maps run $179. Printed maps are $269, at 24 by 36 inches. The bundle holding both, plus the global and domestic versions, is $449 with shipping included. Everything sits on the main page.

Nobody has to buy anything, though. My part is to offer. Yours is to agree or refuse.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which astrocartography line should I live on?

No single line wins for everybody. Match the line to the decision in front of you. Jupiter and Venus lines suit expansion and relationships. Saturn suits long work, though it charges comfort as the fee. Test your own history against each planet before trusting anybody’s ranking.

Where should I live according to astrocartography free?

A free chart narrows the world to a few regions. That is as far as it reaches. Country level at best. City and neighborhood work needs local space math, which no free generator runs.

How do I figure out my astrocartography chart?

Three inputs. Date, clock time and place of birth. Feed them to any free calculator and the map appears in under two minutes. Then list every line within 300 miles of the places you care about.

Is there a genuinely free astrocartography chart calculator?

Several of them. astro.com, astro-seek and astrocarto.org all draw a full map at no cost. None of them ask for payment before showing your lines. Paid tiers buy print files or storage, never extra astrology.

What is the best free astrocartography website?

astro.com, for my money. Interactive lines. Ten bodies. Local space sitting in the same menu. Astro-Seek wins on speed and on sidereal options, so try both and keep whichever you actually open twice.

Can I get an astrocartography chart with explanation?

Every generator ships explanations. Read them as background instead of as a reading. That text was written for a general audience long before your data arrived.

Do I need my exact birth time for a free astrocartography map?

Yes for precision, no for a first look. Four minutes of error moves a line roughly seventy miles. An unknown time still shows MC and IC lines usefully, since those run on longitude alone.

Is there an astrocartography map generator for one city?

Not among the free tools. City work uses local space, a different calculation drawing directions out from a single point. AstroClick Local Space on astro.com is the free exception.

Can I get a free astrocartography reading?

Not in any real sense. Free tools produce charts and template text. A reading means a person answering your question, which nobody does for nothing.

Is there a sidereal or Vedic astrocartography calculator?

Astro-Seek runs sidereal at no cost. Desktop software handles it too. Free Vedic astrocartography output stays rare, so expect to set the ayanamsa yourself.

What is astrogeography?

A broader label for astrology applied to place. Astrocartography is simply one method inside it. Some writers use the two words interchangeably, though astrogeography also covers older correspondence systems.

Does astro.com charge for the astrocartography chart?

No fee for the map itself. AstroClick Travel is free, as is Local Space. Money only enters for print-quality PDF drawings and a low-cost subscription that removes ads.

Can I print my free chart at home?

You can, though the file sits at screen resolution. Expect soft edges at any size above letter paper. Real print files need software exporting vector output.

Where should I live based on my birthday?

Your birthday alone cannot answer that. The date sets the planets, roughly. Clock time and birthplace decide where the lines actually land on the globe.

Two people born the same day in different cities get very different maps. So feed all three inputs to a calculator. Then read the planets running near the places you already know.

Where should I relocate, according to astrology?

Locational astrology hands you two tools. Astrocartography draws the lines across the world. A relocation chart then rebuilds your whole natal chart for one address.

I run the map first, always. It narrows the planet to a handful of regions. The relocation chart handles finer detail after that.

Does an astrocartography chart show wealth?

No line on any map prints a number. Jupiter lines get sold that way, though, so expect the claim on every generator you open.

What a Jupiter line brings is more opportunity crossing your desk. Money still follows ordinary rules there. The line widens the door. Walking through it stays your part.

Which astrocartography chart is the most accurate?

Accuracy sits in your data, not in the site you pick. Every serious calculator runs the same ephemeris underneath. Feed one a rounded birth time and it draws precise lines from a wrong premise.

astro.com stays my pick for time zone handling on older births. Astro-Seek matches it once you set the options yourself.

Which planet is responsible for settling abroad?

Vedic astrologers point at Rahu first, then at Saturn and the Moon for long stays. Astrocartography answers differently. No planet sends people abroad in general.

The real question is which of your lines crosses the country in front of you. Jupiter and Sun lines abroad tend to pull hardest. My own emigration landed near a Moon line, which is family territory.

How do I calculate my IC line?

Any free calculator draws it for you. Switch the display to IC lines. The tool then marks every longitude where a planet sat at the lowest point of the sky.

Doing it by hand needs spherical math and an ephemeris. Nobody bothers anymore. IC lines run straight north to south, so they hold position whatever house system a site uses.

What house is associated with the IC?

Your fourth house cusp is the IC. Hellenistic astrologers treated it as the most hidden point in the chart. It sits opposite the MC, so public life on one end and private life on the other.

That makes IC lines matter more than their search volume suggests. Home and family roots both read through that angle. More sits on the four angles page.

Is your first house the same as your ascendant?

The ascendant marks where your first house begins. Same point under two names. On a map that point becomes your AC line.

Standing on an AC line puts the planet into how people read you. Strangers notice something different about you there. That is the angle most travelers feel first.

Start Free, Then Decide

Generate the free chart tonight. It costs nothing but ten minutes.

Then do the slower part. Check the lines against the years you have already lived. The city that felt wrong from the first week. That trip you did not want to end. And the apartment where you slept badly for two years.

Do not believe me. Go and test it. Maybe it works better for you than it does for somebody else.

Without a map you move like a blind kitten. Try left, wall. Right side, wall again. Behind you, another wall. With the map you at least see where they stand.

I am still living on my Pluto line, plus or minus. Still transforming.
